In Crimea, a 31-year-old local resident was sentenced by the Leninsky District Court. Based on the evidence presented by the prosecutor’s office, he was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a car by a person in a state of intoxication, who has a criminal record for committing a similar crime).
On November 4, 2022, being a person previously convicted twice for committing similar crimes, and not having the right to drive vehicles, in the village of Lenino, he again drove a car in a state of intoxication. After the discovery of his criminal actions by traffic police officers, the convict underwent an examination for intoxication on the spot, as a result of which alcohol intoxication was established. The court, taking into account the position of the public prosecutor, sentenced the man to 1 year in prison. He is deprived of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles for a period of 5 years. The sentence imposed in the form of deprivation of liberty, the convict will have to serve in a penal colony of general regime. The judgment has not entered into force.
