A Crimean will go to a colony for an accident in which a person was injured

The prosecutor’s office of the Krasnogvardeisky district supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 45-year-old resident of the Dzhankoy district. Crimean found guilty of committing a crime under paragraph «a» part 2 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation by a person driving a car of the rules of the road, which negligently entailed the infliction of grievous bodily harm to a person, committed by a person in a state of intoxication).
The court established that on January 13, 2023, the defendant, while in a state of intoxication, driving a Ford Focus, was moving at a speed exceeding the permitted speed on the highway Border with Ukraine — Simferopol — Alushta — Yalta. The vehicle subsequently collided with a Mitsubishi, which slowed down to perform a turning maneuver. As a result of a traffic accident, the driver of the Mitsubishi car suffered serious bodily injuriesthe prosecutor’s office said.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the alleged crime.
The court, agreeing with the position of the public prosecutor, sentenced the man to 2 years and 10 months in prison to be served in a colony-settlement. He is deprived of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 3 years. The verdict has not entered into force.
