Another «fighter» of banned Ukrainian national battalion detained in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Crimea, this is not the first (and certainly not the last) case of the detention of «fighters» of the Ukrainian national battalions. This «public», having served, quietly (often, under the guise of refugees) returns to their native lands, to the peninsula. Here they “lay low” and think that their “exploits” will go unnoticed…
Today it became known about the detention of a 39-year-old Crimean on suspicion of participation in the activities of an illegal armed group by FSB operatives in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
It was established that in 2016 the man voluntarily joined the armed formation “Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after M. Noman Chelebidzhikhan» (the organization is recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation — ed.). The suspect took an active part in the activities of illegal armed formations. At the same time, having a real opportunity to voluntarily withdraw from its composition, he did not apply to law enforcement agencies with a statement about this, thereby continuing his criminal activities to participate in the battalion, the press service of the regional FSB reports.
The Investigation Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol initiated a criminal case against the detainee under Part 2 of Art. 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of this article provides for punishment of up to 15 years in prison.
