A local resident turned to the police of the Black Sea region of Crimea. The applicant reported that a moped worth 60 thousand rubles was missing from a non-residential premises located in the village of Olenevka.
Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the investigative-operational group, in hot pursuit, a 29-year-old fellow villager of the victim was identified and detained. The man confessed to everything and said that he stole a moped to ride. The police officers confiscated the vehicle and returned it to the owner,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea said.
The Department of Inquiry of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Chernomorsky District initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft). The sanction of the article provides for punishment from a large fine to five years in prison.
Currently, police officers are carrying out operational search activities to identify other facts of the detainee’s illegal activities.
