Media: the purpose of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to cut off Russia's ground communication with Crimea

Leading NATO analysts suggest that the next six months will be critical for the military operation in Ukraine. About this, citing sources in the alliance, writes the German newspaper «Bild». The news that Ukraine is preparing a powerful counteroffensive, the main directions of which will be Luhansk and Zaporozhye, and most importantly, Kyiv wants to cut off Russia’s land communication with Crimea, is treated as “something that has happened”.

NATO, in particular, is convinced that the weapons currently being supplied to Ukraine by Western countries will be used in May in order to “push the invading Russian army out of the south and east of Ukraine«.

We are preparing for the spring or summer offensive. The coming six months will be a key period in the war, not only for Ukraine, but also for the allies.— quotes the official of the alliance «Bild».

According to the publication, the official provided information about the possible direction of the counteroffensive, but made the reservation that “must be very careful for security reasons«. According to him, Russia «fairly assumes» that the offensive of the Ukrainian military will take place in the Luhansk and Zaporozhye regions. The goal of the offensive in the southeast is «destroy the land bridge to the Crimea«, writes the newspaper.

NATO does not rule out that Ukraine will launch an offensive against Crimea itself, since the alliance believes that “Kyiv has the right to regain the entire Ukrainian territory«.

It should be noted that as recently as yesterday, the EU countries agreed on the supply of 1 million (!) Artillery ammunition to Ukraine over the next 12 months. For this, Europe will spend about 2 billion euros.
