CrimeaPRESS reports:
Every year on May 18, the world celebrates International Museum Day. The Museum of Fire and Rescue Forces of Crimea under the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea also did not stand aside. Today, its doors were open to everyone who wanted to touch the history of the Crimean fire craft.
On average, about 2,500 people visit the museum per year. The excursions are attended by both students of preschool and educational institutions, as well as university students.
Here, on an area of about 200 square meters in the building of the Main Directorate, a history of more than 160 years has been collected. The museum presents such “artifacts” of the fire craft as leather hoses for extinguishing, protective helmets of firefighters of the 50s of the XX century, a fire coil, a fire pump, various awards and diplomas, as well as dioramas that convey the atmosphere of firefighters’ work, liquidation of various fires in different periods of history.
Most of the museum’s exhibits are made by hand by veterans of the Crimean fire brigade, among them the most popular among children and adults is the electrified model of the apartment before and after the fire, the model of the reactor of the exposition dedicated to the liquidation of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, etc. All visitors to the legendary museum have the opportunity to visually and easily assimilate the basic concepts of even such a complex and multifaceted system as civil defense, thanks to such interesting excursions. Such familiarity with historical facts remains in memory for a long time and helps to form a culture of safe behavior among children of any age.— reported in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.
Recall that the Museum of Fire and Rescue Forces of Crimea was opened in 1978. Its doors are always open to visitors. The exhibition halls can be explored even via mobile phone. Virtual tour available
