The allowance for children from 8 to 17 years is designed for low-income families. Payments are assigned based on the results of a comprehensive need assessment: to families where the average per capita income is less than the subsistence level per person, parents have earnings or objective reasons for its absence, and the family’s property meets the established requirements.
Detailed information about the new allowance can be found in a special section on the PFR website — https://pfr.gov.ru/grazhdanam/8_to_17_years.
It should be noted that an integral system of support for low-income families with children is gradually being built in Russia. There are payments for pregnant women who registered early, payments for children under 3 years old, children from 3 to 8 years old.
